Losing confidence at work? We all struggle with feelings of self-doubt, especially at work or when attending networking events. Female self confidence is a topic debated often - are you constantly questioning whether you're “too much,” or maybe you don’t raise your voice often enough and your exceptional ideas are left unsaid. It’s not uncommon to have a confidence crisis at some point. If you have lost confidence at work, then this article is going to give you some amazing tips on how to build self confidence at work and in business. 


  1. Lean into your personal brand & workplace strengths


Connecting with yourself, understanding and building your personal brand can help build self-confidence. Do you know what you want to be known for? If not, work it out and building your personal brand in that area. Your personal brand is probably going to focus on your strengths rather than your weaknesses. By building your personal brand you will be engaging in both personal and professional development, focusing on what you are good, which can help you find confidence in business meetings and in the workplace. You are sure to improve confidence at work if you align yourself and focus on showcasing your strengths.


  1. Evaluate your language and posture


Do you sit slumped in your chair in team meetings? No wonder you feel like you are losing self-confidence at work. Do you use the word “erm” every few seconds? If the answer is yes, then don’t worry, we all do it. But sitting straight and speaking in a clear, unequivocal tone can help you improve your confidence in work. If you speak confidently and your peers think you really believe in what you're saying then you will believe it too in time! 


  1. Practice Gratitude 


Keeping track of your achievements and practicing gratitude can help you improve confidence. If you’re in crisis and having doubts about your abilities, take a second to breathe and look back at all of your past achievements. You will no doubt have already achieved lots in your business and your career. Be confident about your past achievements as our brain has a habit of playing tricks on us - it manages to forget all the great feedback we previously received.


  1. Made a mistake? Learn from it and move on


You will lose confidence if you dwell on your mistakes. We all make mistakes. The worst thing you can do if you’ve made an error is focus on that mistake and let it prevent you from reaching your goals. Boost confidence by moving on. Mistakes and failures are a natural part of life. If a mistake is impacting your confidence, it’s time to hold your hands up, apologise and move on. 


  1. Accept Compliments


Do you have a habit of downplaying yourself when you receive a compliment from your boss, colleague or a client? You can improve confidence at work by accepting compliments and acknowledging you did a great job. You deserve recognition, so don’t shy away from receiving compliments or express doubt. A confident person should be able to accept compliments graciously and with thanks.
